Cursor (Anysphere) quietly acquired Continue around June 16, 2026; the team shipped a final v2.0.0 release on June 19, 2026 and disabled recurring billing. Continue's homepage now reads 'Continue has been acquired by Cursor,' hosted conversation history and team configs were scheduled for deletion after July 15, 2026 (already past as of this writing), and the Apache-2.0 codebase was handed to the community with no further updates planned. The pricing page still lists legacy numbers, but new signups and renewed billing should not be expected to be honored - treat as a discontinued product for cost-audit purposes.

Where the real Continue cost hides
The sticker is the smallest part of the story. For Continue, these are the line items that quietly inflate the bill:
- Recurring billing was reportedly disabled org-wide post-acquisition - any continued charge under 'Continue' is likely a billing error or stale payment method, not real usage.
- The pre-acquisition Team plan bundled only $10 in credits per $20 seat, so agent-heavy teams routinely paid Starter-rate token overages on top of the seat fee.
- Hosted Hub data (shared assistants, team configs) was slated for deletion after July 15, 2026, creating an uncompensated migration scramble for teams that didn't export in time.
